Do guys have engagement rings too? Do they wear both the engagement and wedding ring after being married?

Do guys wear engagement rings too? And u know how a lot of times the brides engagement and wedding ring are a set, do the guy’s engagement and wedding ring match too? and do guys wear both rings after being married? Can a person buy all four rings matching?

It depends on the guy.

My husband laughed at the idea when I presented it to him. But my best friend (a guy) thought it unfair that only girls get engagement rings.

In the end, my best friend did get his engagement ring but with them they were going to use that ring as his wedding band too. Most guy rings are too thick to have two on the same finger and many guys dislike wearing more than one ring.

I would say that you should talk to your man and ask him what he prefers. He’s really the best person to answer these questions. Well, except the last question but I’m sure that you shouldn’t have a problem finding four rings that match. But remember that they don’t *have* to match. I promise that the officiant won’t throw a fit if they don’t match :p

Good luck.

OMG Do not even think about marriage until you have a serious talk with your Mother, Grandmother or someone that can tell you what a marriage really is. Of course, the men to NOT wear and engagement ring, look into books and magazines that will help you with these kinds of questions that you should have noticed by the time you were five years old. Any way, Have a good time no matter what you do. Maybe you could start a new trend in guys wearing engagement rings.

I agree that it is up to him… that being said, perhaps I’m just a psycho feminist or something… but if I’m going to wear a ring on my finger that basically proclaims I’m totally and completely taken, he’d better be willing to wear one, too. I know this isn’t romantic and perfect and happily ever after and all… but… for real.

Everyone’s gonna harang me and say the ring symbolizes love and not your status and blah blah blah that girls always say, but to me it’s a silly notion that a woman must basically be branded as someone’s property (which is why only women traditionally wore rings) and men don’t.

Basically, if he’s truly committed to marrying me, I don’t see why he’d have a problem with it.

Men ususally don’t normally wear engagement rings in western countries. But I do know that in the middle east, india, and parts of asia/orient men do wear engagement rings.

No, guys do not wear engagement rings. The engagement ring is meant for the bride. Most guys don’t like to wear jewelry in the first place, so a wedding ring is enough for them. As for the rings matching, the rings do not have to match. Some couples prefer them to be matched, but some couples don’t care. It’s really your preference on whether or not you want the rings to match. As for your guy wearing an engagement ring, that’s up to him. Talk to him first and see what he prefers.

Men do not traditionally wear engagement rings, but they may choose to. This engagement ring could be upgraded to wedding band at the time of the wedding or a wedding band could be added in addition to it, the same as a woman’s engagement ring. The rings could be purchased to all match, or not.
